There is much anticipation about the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, which are coming up fast!

The Olympic Rings are used to represent all the athletes who are part of one community— worldwide. So who’s ready for a little Olympic history?

The Olympic Rings were created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin and displayed for the first time in 1920. The 5 rings symbolize the union of the 5 continents and the meeting of athletes from across the world at the Olympic Games. And the colors blue, black, red, yellow and green were chosen specifically because at least one of these colors can be found in each competing nation’s flag.
